- What prompted our school to consider implementing a professional learning community? Was it the right prompt?
- What is the purpose of implementing our professional learning community?
- What will our professional learning community look like when it’s implemented and operating effectively?
- Who will lead our professional learning community? Will we always have the same facilitator or will we rotate? Are the people selected to facilitate our PLC chosen because of title, rank, leadership, role within the school? What are the criteria if any?
- What have we done in the past that might support effective professional learning communities?
- What have we done in the past that created barriers which may prevent us from forming effective professional learning communities? What are the barriers? How can we overcome the barriers?
- Do we have genuine support from staff, building leadership, district leadership, and parents? If not, how will we go about gaining their support?
- What data have we collected or research conducted to know that professional learning communities are the best approach for our building?
- What operating principles will we be using to conduct effective professional learning communities? Do we already have a strong, accepted, and universally applied decision-making process?
- How will we monitor, evaluate, and measure the effectiveness of our professional learning community?
- What resources are available to support our professional learning community? How can we reprioritize our resources to support PLC’s?
- How can we find the necessary time to effectively implement and sustain professional learning communities? How can we think creatively to find more time?
- How will professional learning communities impact and influence the comprehensive professional development plan for our school?
